Shaping a healthier Aotearoa

Arataki PHO is committed to delivering equitable healthcare that works for every community.

We partner across the health sector to ensure the right services reach all Kiwis. Through Tend's primary care network, we directly deliver government-funded services, work with community providers on free programmes like outreach immunisation and collaborate with other PHOs on initiatives such as emergency response plans.

Operating across three out of four Te Whatu Ora regions gives us unique insight into what works across the motu. We direct resources and expertise where they're needed most, helping eliminate inequities and improving health outcomes for all.

What they're saying...

“What I love about Tend is how nursing is woven into every part of the care journey. Patients can book nurse-led services directly through the app, making it simple to get the right care when they need it. The technology supports us beautifully, but at the heart of it all, it’s still people caring for people.”
Nicky Holder
Head of Nursing, Tend Health
“You can't just build a clinic and expect communities who've been let down by the health system to walk through the door. Trust is earned by being trustworthy. When Māori patients are adopting digital tools at higher rates than any other group, that tells me they feel safe, they feel seen and they feel like these services were built for them - not despite them. That sense of belonging in healthcare spaces is what we should be measuring alongside clinical outcomes.”
Dr Rawiri McKree Jansen
GP at Tend Symonds Street and Hauora Māori advocate
"The support from the wider Tend team, particularly around prescribing and peer support has made a real difference. It's a much more sustainable and hopeful environment and I'm genuinely looking forward to the next stage."
Dr Sunil Guleria
GP at Tend Ashburton (formerly Moore St Medical Centre)
"Together we can make a difference. In a nation of just over 5 million people, nobody should be missing out on access to healthcare. We believe healthcare should be equitable, accessible and designed for you and your whānau. We are focusing on delivering the very best healthcare experience and building a Kiwi-owned company for our future generations."
Cecilia Robinson
Co-founder and Co-CEO Tend Health
“We were impressed by Tend's vision and technological capabilities to deliver high quality primary healthcare services that make it easier and more convenient for people to access a GP. Tend’s also about utilising technology to reduce admin so we can spend more time with our patients - in-person or online”
Dr Eileen Sables
GP at Tend Pakuranga (former GP owner at Pakuranga Medical Centre)
"The culture at Tend is very different to anything I have seen in other practices. They genuinely really care about their team and the collaborative working style means I no longer feel isolated"
Dr Sally McLaren
GP at Tend Kingsland
"If you are keen to shape the future of healthcare in New Zealand, Tend is a fantastic place to work. I enjoy the commitment Tend has for using technology to make healthcare more accessible and making New Zealanders the healthiest people in the world."
Dr Ciaran Edwards
GP at Tend Kingsland and Tend Symonds Street
